Frequently Asked Questions

8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2013 Chevrolet Spark?
The NHTSA has issued 22 recalls affecting the 2013 Chevrolet Spark covering air bag, electrical, hood latch, transmission software, seat belt, and front suspension components.
How do I check if my 2013 Chevrolet Spark has an open recall?
You can check recalls using your VIN at NHTSA.gov or bring your vehicle to Coggin Chevrolet at the Avenues for a free VIN check. To save time, schedule service and we will verify any open recalls during your visit.
How much does a 2013 Chevrolet Spark recall repair cost?
Manufacturer recall repairs are performed at no cost to the owner; GM-authorized dealers perform these remedies free of charge. Coggin Chevrolet at the Avenues uses OEM parts and factory-trained technicians; ask about our service financing and available service specials for related maintenance.
Can I get my 2013 Chevrolet Spark recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Recall repairs should be completed by an authorized franchise dealer to ensure OEM parts, proper programming, and documentation; Coggin Chevrolet at the Avenues is your local certified Chevrolet dealer for recall repairs near Jacksonville, FL. Independent shops cannot always reflash manufacturer modules or obtain replacement parts and programming that manufacturers require for recalls.
How long does a 2013 Chevrolet Spark recall repair take?
Most recall remedies (software reflashes, part replacements) take from 30 minutes to a few hours, but some repairs may require parts ordering and take longer. When you schedule service we’ll give an estimated turnaround time and explain whether your vehicle needs to remain with us.
Does an open recall affect my 2013 Chevrolet Spark's trade-in or resale value?
An unresolved recall can affect resale or trade-in value because many buyers and dealers check recall status before purchase; getting recalls resolved protects value and buyer confidence. Coggin Chevrolet at the Avenues can complete recall repairs and provide documentation to preserve trade-in value; learn about appraisal options at our trade-in page.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2013 Chevrolet Spark recall?
Open recalls typically do not alone cause an inspection failure, but safety-related recalls (like air bag or suspension issues) may lead to a failed inspection or unsafe vehicle condition until repaired. If a recall involves airbags, hood latches, or front suspension (as the NHTSA records show), address it promptly by scheduling service so you remain compliant and safe on the road.
